The Triumphal Arch of Palmyra in Washington D.C.
On September 26th, 2018, the IDA’s replica of the Triumphal Arch of Palmyra was unveiled on the National Mall in Washington D.C. Chairman Ed Royce and Ranking Member Eliot Engel of the House Foreign Affairs Committee both spoke at the unveiling. They have worked together for years to legislate agains the looting of artifacts from the Middle East and to protect cultural heritage around the world. The arch remained in Washington D.C. until September 28th, and was visited by thousands of people during it’s installation.

Spirit in the Stone: the statue of Allat at the United Nations
The Institute for Digital Archaeology, in partnership with the Dubai Future Foundation unveiled a major new cultural heritage reconstruction and companion exhibition in the Great Hall at the United Nations in New York City. The event was attended by the Secretary General, the President of the General Assembly, the President of the Security Council and many regional leaders, delegates and VIPs. Speakers included H.E. Ambassador Sebastiano Cardi, Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations, Mr. Vincenzo Amendola, Italy’s Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Miroslav Lajčák, President of the 72nd General Assembly of the United Nations, H.E. Ms. Maria Luiza Ribeiro Viotti, Under-Secretary-General and Chef de Cabinet of the UN Secretary-General, Mr. Roger Michel, Executive Director of the Institute for Digital Archaeology and H.E. Omar bin Sultan al Olama of Dubai, Dubai Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence.
Architecture of Memory 2017
An examination of the cultural, political, religious and practical aspects of people's relationships to monuments by an extraordinary panel of architects, academics and government/NGO officials, including the designers of the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial, the Kigali Genocide Memorial and installations at St. Paul's Cathedral. The focused on why monuments are important, how their identities change over time, and whether/how stakeholders should seek to control the narratives that are attached to them.

Digital Technology for Heritage Preservation
Over the recent years, 3D scanning has become part of a coherent and non-contact approach to the documentation of Cultural Heritage and its long term preservation. New developments in digital recording are appearing everyday and the academic community, relevant private and public institutions, media and general public, are increasingly interested in the growing possibilities such technological developments have to offer in the face of the important challenges related to the preservation of our shared Cultural Heritage.

This film follows the Institute for Digital Archaeology's concept, creation and exhibition of the Arch from the ruins of Palmyra, to the marble quarries of Carrara to its unveiling in Trafalgar Square. But this film also broaches the topic of replication authenticity: Can a copy actually evoke the spirit and story of the original?
The Princess of Piombino
The Princess of Piombino is a feature film produced by Corey Brennan and Dena Seidel and directed by Gabriela Elise and Sean Feuer. The film documents the extraordinary heritage conservation program undertaken by HSH Principessa Rita Boncompagni Ludovisi at the Villa Aurora in Rome, including the rediscovery and restoration of Caravaggio's only known ceiling painting.
